I understand the reasoning behind this product. Walden Farms produces a large lineup of “zero calorie” products (may contain trace calories – what the heck is a trace calorie, and how is it not just calories?). This BBQ sauce is among those products, and is the clearest sign to me that there is true evil on this earth.
Look, I get the desire to have reduced calorie products – really I do… but…
There comes a point where you’ve ruined what you’re trying to achieve in the effort to get all the way there. This product is a case in point. When you first taste it, there’s an overwhelming sense that something wrong has happened with your mouth. That’s the pure unadulterated taste of Sucralose assaulting your face with its nastiness. The rest of the flavour – that I’m sure exists in there – is hidden behind that taste. I found it impossible to get past.
It’s entirely reasonable to look for a low calorie BBQ sauce. In fact, I’ll be making one later on in this blog. It is not reasonable to consume this product under the guise of a low calorie BBQ sauce. I will make an exception to that if you’re serving it to your enemies in an effort to crush their very souls.
